Default Canadian iPhone Price - iPhone price in Canada (guess)

Hi all,

I was sitting today and trying to count how much iPhone might cost in Canada once it arrives here... My first thought was that Canadian dollar is something like $0,945 USD nowadays, so it can't be all that much more expensive here...

So I am thinking the price in Canada will probably be something like $600 CAD for 4GB / $700 CAD for 8Gb iPhone model (this even leaves something extra for Rogers, since it's a bit more than current exchange rate)...

What do you think? :?:

Dennis

Sounds logical. My main concern is how much the phone is going to cost to run for the 2 years you're under contract. The only good thing is it seems the iPhone hackers are getting close to unlocking the iPhone.

Apple tends to follow currencies more closely than some companies, so I'd guess that prices will be slightly higher than a direct conversion, but not by much. Let's say $550 for a 4GB iPhone and $650 for an 8GB model.

The real question is Rogers' rates. If the carrier keeps its existing strategy, you'd never come close to matching AT&T: $300 a month for service that still has small caps and far more limited calling/texting. If Apple were to negotiate a near-exact match for the AT&T plan, it would be $65 a month with unlimited data included. That's a tad more reasonable!

I bought an iPhone through eBay, but the damn thing's been sitting in Customs since Oct 1st.

I'll post what the amount I had to pay after (if?!?!?) it gets here.

I received a letter today from Customs asking for an invoice and/or receipt to verify the cost of the iPhone.

I faxed them the info, so now I guess I continue waiting...

It turns out all I had to pay (besides PST + GST) was an 8$ processing fee.
